ANGELS
The angels are the most powerful species on Affer. Their average height is six feet, but some can reach eight feet. All of them have at least one pair of wings, while a few are born with two.
White wings are the most common, with over sixty percent of angels bearing them. Black wings come in second, with thirty-nine percent of angels having them. While having black wings doesn’t mean anything, red is a different story. Red wings are the rarest, and less than one percent of angels are blessed with them. Angels with these wings heal twice as fast as normal angels, are twice as strong, and have a memory capable of recalling minor events and conversations from centuries ago. The double-winged angels are more common than the red wings, with just over ten percent of angels possessing them. Most double-winged angels have two wings of the same color, but it is possible for one to have two different colored wings. Lastly, are the three-winged angels. For thousands of years, it was thought that an angel could only have two pairs of wings, but Xancore Velminhide proved that wrong. King Xancore is the only angel ever to have three pairs of wings. On top of that, he has a pair of each color, making him the most powerful angel of all time.
While the angels are smart, strong, and heal fast, none of those are their greatest assets. In fact, their greatest advantage is also their biggest weakness: echolocation. The angels have echolocation, but they are also blind and rely entirely on it. Some aren’t very good at using it and have a slight handicap, while others are on par with a human. Then there are those who have mastered it and can sense everything around them, using echolocation as a part of their body and turning themselves into a weapon.

THE KINGDOM
The angels have the fewest cities, yet they are the strongest and have the largest population. That’s because each city is built to be grand and powerful. Even Kren, the smallest and weakest city in the kingdom, is worthy of being a capital, and in almost every other kingdom, it would be.
Long ago, the angel kingdom was comprised solely of Plitin. Because of that, it made trade and other interactions hard with the other kingdoms. Traveling to and fro from Plitin Island to the mainland wasn’t easy. When Xancore became the king, he started working to change that. The first city to be added to the kingdom was Kren. Once the city was completed, it quickly exploded in growth. Tens of thousands of angels moved from Plitin to Kren, eager to live on the mainland.
Wisely selecting the city’s leaders made Kren thrive even more, and it was only two decades later that the construction of Swun began nearby. Three decades after Kren was completed, a city to the north of Zenton Sea had started development. That city was named Xero, and it’s the second-largest in the angel kingdom.
THE CAPITAL
Plitin
Plitin is the grandest city Affer has ever seen; even Admont in its prime falls short of the glory of the angel’s capital. Plitin is the culmination of centuries of work, unlimited resources, and an obsession to create something that stands far above everything else. Every inch of the city has been thought out, and even though all angles are blind and rely on echolocation, that doesn’t mean they can’t make art. There isn’t a line in Plitin that isn’t perfectly straight, an object that doesn’t serve a purpose, or a building that isn’t spotless. If it weren’t for the angels living there and the slaves working there, one would think the city was uninhabited because of how perfect everything is. But that look doesn’t come without a price. The whole city is closely watched over, and the civilians are kept on a tight leash. It wouldn’t be far-fetched to say the slaves in the kingdom of the dammed are treated better than the angels of Plitin.
As for the slaves themselves, they are treated as nothing more than fodder. It’s common for humans to die from overwork, abuse, and lack of food. Conditions are so bad that death is viewed as a gift for the slaves of Plitin. Despite these cruel factors, the angels remain the strongest species in Affer and possess the third-highest number of slaves.
