LYRUM

(Lie-rum)

Of all the creatures in Affer, the lyrum is deemed as the most peculiar. They have no organs, head, eyes, mouth, ears, or nose, and it is unknown how they live or where they come from, since they can’t reproduce. Many speculate they are created as a byproduct of the dammed Awaking, as there are more Lyrum around Lungen than anywhere else in Yoxtoll Forest.

They are the most peaceful creatures on Affer, and even predators leave them alone, despite them being perfectly edible. As for their appearance, they have a large blue mushroom in place of a head, with glowing white “veins” sewn about it. Smaller blue mushrooms identical to their head are scattered around their body, and clumps of purple fungi run amok on them. Small and large holes dot their body, too, and their skin is a slightly darker shade of white than sunhem trees.
