QUADRILASS

(Quad-ra-lass)

This behemoth of a creature would contest the vex for the spot of apex predator of Zenton Sea, but with half their bodies missing, the quadrilass comes up short. To make up for the missing lower halves of their bodies, quadrilasses have four arms. Their secondary pair of arms, which protrude partly from their upper back, are much larger than their main ones and are used in place of legs to move the creature forward.

For their torsos, quadrilasses have partly exposed ribs that worsen toward the bottom of the creature, where their bones are easily seen. Where their spine should attach to hypural plates, like most fish, or even a pelvis, like humans, there is nothing. Instead, their backbone sticks out of their bodies. As for the rest of their lower torso, it is also open, and their organs are visible. The only thing keeping the quadrilasses’ organs inside their bodies is thousands of thick, muscular-like fibers that wrap around their insides. However, sometimes these strands are eaten by smaller fish, resulting in many of them detaching and trailing behind their bodies.

To capture their prey, the quadrilass has four sharp fingers and large, pointy teeth. To devour smaller prey, they have an inner mouth, with many more finer teeth. Another notable feature about them is their many eyes. Quadrilasses have eight fire-orange eyes.
